China’s revised Infectious Diseases Law shows a shift toward balancing epidemic control with civil liberties and economic activity. While empowering local governments can improve response speed, it also risks uneven implementation and accountability. From a public health perspective, I think a standardized national framework for reporting and complaint procedures, rather than leaving it to each local government, would strengthen both compliance and public trust.
